BIOCHAR FROM BIOSOLIDS

Turn your challenges into a profitable business case

Recycling of sewage sludge through pyrolysis offers multible game-changing benefits, for municipalities. With PYREG your community can generate valuable, phosphorus enriched biochar while generating renewable energy, used for drying/mass reduction, and valuable carbon credits.

GAME-CHANGING BENEFITS

COST AVOIDANCE
  • Mass reduction of up to 90%
  • No residues left to be disposed, therefore no disposal costs
  • Eliminate high transport costs and tipping fees at incineration plants or landfills
  • Decentralized: Processing on site
RENEWABLE ENERGY

Renewable energy that is generated during the carbonization process is used for drying /mass reduction.

ENVIRONMENTAL AND SOCIAL BENEFITS
  • Safe and secure solution for the destruction of hazardous substances through a proven carbonization technology
  • Eliminates the onward effects of PFAS impacts on our environment
BIOCHAR FROM BIOSOLIDS

Biochar from biosolids contains valuable phosphorus; this biochar fertilizer is proven to have 90% effectiveness compared to Triple Super Phosphate (TSP)

CARBON CREDITS
  • Climate positive process
  • Earning additional revenue by generating carbon credits
EXPERIENCE
  • Numerous systems in operation around the world since 2015
  • Fully integrated technology (filtration, wet scrubber, activated carbon filter) to meet strict emissions standards
  • Acceleration of permitting process through precedent

FREEDSTOCK POLUTANT DEGRADATION

PYREG technology guarantees a controlled, continuous carbonization process at a temperature of >500 °C for >10 minutes. This removes polutants of high ecolocical and human health impact. PYREG helps Wastewater Treatment plants to transform waste into value, leading to significant revenue opportunity for municipalities around the world.

COMPACT AND DECENTRALIZED – INTEGRATED DRYING AND CARBONIZATION

PYREG plants are compact, container based and can easily be integrated into existing infrastructure and material cycles. Our plants for biosolids recycling and for gentle phosphorus recovery have been proving their worth since 2015.
